Means, methods or facilitation available to the public which are adopted by the office of Deputy Commissioner, Sangrur for dissemination of information.

Through Public Information Officers/ Asstt.  Public Information Officers.

 

Under the provisions of the Right to Information Act, the Public Authority (Deputy Commissioner, Sangrur) has designated Public Information Officers at the district and Sub                Divisional level.There are six sub divisions in the district. These

 

PIOs and Asstt. PIOs will entertain complaints from the public for immediate redressal as per the Act.

 

Suwidha:

                   A Suwidha counter is also being run at the district level and is likely to be extended at Sub Division level shortly. This counter serves as an enquiry counter as well as service provide to the citizens. This scheme has proved to be an effective instrument in implementation of citizen charter within a time bound fashion. Quick Processing and early decision making are the hall mark of this system. It has reduced the gap between the people and the administration and has created a people friendly atmosphere.

Asstt. Commissioner (Gri.):

 

                   The post of Assistant Commissioner (Gri.) has also raised the confidence level among the public. In the absence of Deputy Commissioner, Asstt. Commissioner (Gri.) listens to the people and takes appropriate decisions or recommends to the Deputy Commissioner if not himself empowered to take. He       assists the administration in holding "Sangat Darshan" and                       Suwidha Camps" where majority complaints  are decided on               the spot and remaining also decided quickly. He also makes arrangements for the conduct of District Grievances                Committee meetings to be chaired by the Hon'ble Minister.

Court Library:   

A small and independent Court Library is functional, where any lawyer can consult law books on Revenue Law and to some extent Criminal Law.

 

Through New Papers:   

 News, messages and advertisements are given in the news papers on behalf of the Deputy Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner and Sub Divisional Magistrates concerning the areas related to sphere of their work for awareness of the masses.

 

Notice Board:

          Important information regarding inviting applications inviting applications, final results alongwith order of merit for filling up of various vacancies, holding of auctions for different works, election related information, social security pensions and other welfare schemes is displayed on notice boards.

Inspection of records in the office:

          Concerned parties/ litigants can inspect the records pertaining to their respective cases, such as pending or decided court cases, enquiries etc.

System of issuing of copies of documents:

          For issuing copies of documents, appropriate action is taken after getting application from the applicant through  Single Window System.  As per this system any concerned party moves an application at the Single Window, which is processed by the  concerned branch and after obtaining orders of the competent authority, sent to the single window for delivery of copy of the document if approved by the competent authority. Any party to the proceedings (court case or enquiry or otherwise) can move the application for seeking a copy of any document, in which privilege is not claimed by the office. However, such copy can be applied and obtained by making an application t the Public Information Officer / Asstt. Public Information Officer in the prescribed proforma after depositing prescribed fee under the provisions of Right to Information Act. A third party can also seek any documents which it is entitled to have under the Act bid.

 

District Gazetter and Distt. Office Manual :

          Copies of District Gazetteer and District Office Manual are available in the Court Library for public convenience. Any citizen can read the same.

 

Through Public Relation Department :

          People of the district are kept apprised of the latest policies and programs of the Govt. and various achievements made by the district administration through District Public Relation Department.

 

Through Electronic Media :

          Various activities undertaken by the District Administration are highlighted through electronic media.
